I’m Ursula Darby, a Certified Grief Educator, Public Speaker, and Medium with over 21 years of experience helping people navigate grief, loss, and life after death. My work bridges the emotional and the spiritual, without new age fluff, false promises, or esoteric language.
Since 2012, I’ve led live public events and group readings across Canada and the U.S., working with thousands of people both privately and in large audiences. I’ve faced intense emotional moments, from deep grief to public confrontation, and learned how to hold space with clarity, compassion, and strength. I’ve done the work. I’ve earned my presence on a stage.
My client base spans the globe, Japan, New Zealand, Indonesia, England, Ireland, the U.S., and across Canada. I lead grief and intuition workshops, speak publicly on loss, and support people one-on-one through the most difficult moments of their lives.
Before moving into this work full-time, I was a Registered Massage Therapist from 2007 to 2014, supporting clients through physical pain and stress. Earlier in 2001, I completed the Comedy Writing and Performance program at Humber College in Toronto. That training taught me how to use humour as a bridge, how to connect with people in their discomfort, hold attention, and bring relief through laughter. I gave my first readings in 2004, and by 2012, I was leading live public events and private group readings, work I've continued for over a decade.
I started out as a stand-up comedian, and that background still informs my delivery. I use grounded humour to bring people comfort and make heavy topics human. Laughter doesn’t erase pain it heals and it helps people breathe through it.

I believe everyone is born with intuitive abilities, and that “spiritual woo” too often blocks the truth: we’re all wired for connection, and no one should feel broken for grieving.
My work has been featured on CTV, Crave, TVO, Indie88 FM, and podcasts like Cat & Nat and Judy Croon’s Laugh Long and Prosper.
I’m available for speaking engagements at conferences, universities, hospitals, fundraisers, first responder trainings, and community events. I speak with boldness and compassion about grief, death, dying, and emotional resilience, and I help people find language, connection, and healing in the places they expect it least.
I live in Guelph, Ontario, and offer public speaking, workshops, and private sessions both online and in person.
It’s my mission, and my dream, to speak across the world about grief. To stand in front of communities, universities, hospitals, and organizations who’ve experienced loss and offer something real: support, truth, and a way through. Whether I’m on stage or in session, my goal is always the same, to help people feel seen, supported, and less alone.
